The small community of Monteverde is famous for its association with the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Not a town like others, with houses scattered everywhere. This hamlet has been developed by itself to be able to accommodate a large number of tourists who pass through. Biological Reserve. This natural ‘waterwheel’ is what maintains Costa Rica’s impressive ecosystem; within the cloud forests of Monteverde, Costa Rica, you’ll find: Tens of thousands of diverse insects, 2,500 species of plants (420 are strictly orchids), 400 varieties of birds and over 100 types of mammals.

The Treetops Monteverde Cloud Forest is an example of the vast biodiversity of Costa Rica. The cloud forest shelters countless wildlife species, tens of thousands of diverse insects. 2,500 species of plants (420 are strictly orchids), 400 varieties of birds, over 100 types of mammals. Including jaguars, ocelots and the colourfully plumed quetzal. This tour will have you walking high in the air. Between hanging bridges countless plants, flowers, and animals, you will have an unforgettable time exploring the amazing biodiversity of the area.

The sanctuary was born through the cooperation with the Caribbean Sloth Sanctuary, a foundation that shares our vision of conservation, and has worked in the rescue, conservation, reintroduction, and monitoring of sloths in their natural habitat for over 20 years.

A natural exhibit where sloths can travel freely between paths specially created so that they can roam among the trees and foliage of the exhibition. This provides a safe distance that allows observation while preventing as much stress on the animals as possible. These beautiful mammals have arrived at our sanctuary as refugees from the effects of poaching, habitat destruction, orphanage, illness and accidents among other reasons that prevent them from being reintroduced to their natural habitat.

At Sky Trek in Monteverde, you ride the Sky Tram up the mountain and then get back to the base riding thrilling ziplines, making it a perfect adventure activity with no walking segments – get off and jump on to the next cable. You’ll ride 7 cables that go up to 100m (328ft) in height and 750m (2460ft) in length where you will be astounded by its impressive heights, speeds that go up to 70km/h (43.5mph), views, and because you will be able to admire the surrounding mountains like in no other place.
